StoryHorse was formed as a creative studio that crafted compelling video content for brands. It was a network of writers, art directors, planners, strategists, designers, illustrators, sound designers and animators, all driven to tell stories.
Stories have power. The power to excite. The power to ignite imaginations. Narratives that inform, entertain and motivate can galvanize humanity into action. Stories have united millions of strangers for centuries and driven them to cooperate on the most complex of tasks. Brands can harness this power too. Brand videos can explain products, create brand awareness or increase sales, as well as recruit talent, present ideas and promote events.
We guided brand communications through strategy, creative, design and production. On every project, we marked out a clearly defined 7 step process:
1. Briefing and strategy
2. Concept and script
3. Voice recording
4. Storyboarding and art direction
5. Design
6. Animation
7. Sound design and music
This process allowed for an agile approach, getting feedback from clients and refining at every stage.
We created powerful pieces of communication with a strategic media for the appropriate channels. Videos were tracked and reported to analyse success metrics and ensure return on investment.
Social Anxiety Ireland needed to drive awareness of social anxiety and boost donations to their site. Social anxiety is a surprisingly common disorder that causes an individual to experience intense anxiety in everyday social situations. This can result in deep emotional awkwardness, shame and fear, and ultimately isolation and chronic depression. Our challenge was to create a compelling piece of content that accurately captured how it feels to suffer from the condition.
It is better to share your story with those who understand rather than suffer in silence. Interviews were carried out to learn first hand what it’s like to live with social anxiety. Based on these interviews, we came up with a collection of video vignettes that drew on the sufferers’ own experiences. We wanted to visually convey their isolation in social situations through an uneasy off-kilter tone, which was further enhanced through sound design and music.

Impact came to us for a video that would engage schools and colleges and to inform them about Impact’s patented 3D printed gumshields. The task was to generate interest and to encourage the educators to trial the product. Impact used the video for communications through social media, online advertising, on their website and offline in presentations and events.
The unique process and benefits of the product were highlighted in an engaging video, showcasing it as a better choice to the standard alternative of dentist fitted moulded gum shields. As a result Impact are now expanding, opening more offices throughout the UK and Ireland and supply the Irish province teams and major schools and colleges.

Above the fold, a creative event company hosted a creative arts event and after party for Culture Night at the Tara Building collective creative space in Dublin. They approached Storyhorse to create communications for the event, including a video that could be shared to create awareness and drive event bookings.
We created a sharable piece for the Culture Night event at the Tara Building, evoking the tone and values of the collective in the middle of Dublin City. Visually it represents a club feel with lights flashing, synced to music in a low lit atmosphere. The night featured speakers, live DJs, guest talks, a full bar and after party. The communication attracted a diverse group of people to the venue for a sold-out event on the night.
